Subsidised housing
In Germany, people with low incomes can rent low-cost housing, known as ‘subsidised housing’.
Housing benefit (Wohngeld)
Housing benefit is extra financial support for people with low incomes to help them pay the rent.
Rent – what is included?
The rent includes: Rent excl. heating, and utilities. The rent excluding heating is a fixed basic amount.
TV licence (Rundfunkbeitrag)
In Germany, all citizens over the age of 18 and who possess a TV, radio or computer must pay for a licence.
