Child benefit (Kindergeld)
Migrants with a permanent residence in Germany are eligible to receive child benefit until the child turns 18.
Children’s bonus allowance (Kinderzuschlag)
The children’s bonus allowance is an additional allowance on top of child benefit (Kindergeld), which is paid for minors and all unmarried dependants under the age of 25 in families with low incomes.
Parents’ allowance (Elterngeld)
Mothers or fathers are eligible for parents’ allowance after the birth of their child.
Childcare supplement (Betreuungsgeld)
Parents whose child was born after 1 August 2012 and is only cared for at home receive a childcare supplement.
