The children’s bonus allowance is an additional allowance on top of child benefit (Kindergeld), which is paid for minors and all unmarried dependants under the age of 25 in families with low incomes.
Parents may apply for the children’s bonus allowance if they are not able to cover the costs of living for themselves and for their child with their own income.
The children’s bonus allowance is calculated in accordance with the income and assets of the parents and children; it amounts to no more than Euro 185 per month per unmarried dependent aged under 25.
